Training Session – June 26th

Reviewed previous submissions learned – pervian necktie, arm hug, armpit slide, barbed wire armbar – 5 times each

Open Guard
Did Stephan Kesting’s grappling drills for open guard – one legged spins, running the body, switching hooks, hitching a ride, advanced ride hitching, and finally open guard sweep (example BJ Penn)
Reset drill 1 – in guard, go to pass standing up, sweep, reset – mild difficulty
Reset drill 2 – in guard, go to pass standing up, sweep or pass, reset – middle difficulty
Reset drill 3 – in guard, go to pass (any technique), sweep or pass or go to secure side control (bottom can escape), reset – high resistance
Timing drill – knee through pass, guard bottom shrimps out and replaces guard

Open Sparring
Ebb rolling – slow rolling with occasional bursts of speed (if we were going for a submission) – 30 minutes

    Nice training log. I like what you had to say about recording your training and the journey to purple belt. My blog is about my journey in BJJ, among other things. I have my blog more as a reflection tool, and maybe others will benefit from it in some way.
